The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced the temporary suspension of the expanded number coding scheme from April 1 to 3 in observance of Holy Week.
The dates coincide with Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.
According to the MMDA, the coding scheme will be fully suspended on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, while it will only take effect starting 12:00 noon on Holy Wednesday.
“Planuhin ang biyahe at mag-ingat sa pagmamaneho,” the MMDA said in its advisory.
“Hangad ng MMDA na maging mapayapa at makabuluhan ang inyong paggunita ng Lenten season,” it added.
In a related development, the agency also lifted the truck ban and coding scheme for oil tankers and other vehicles transporting prime commodities and basic necessities across the country.
The move aims to ease travel conditions during the Holy Week exodus while ensuring the continuous delivery of essential goods.
