A total of 338 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), their dependents, and stranded Filipinos have safely returned home from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced Sunday.
The chartered plane carrying the group landed at Villamor Airbase in Pasay City shortly after 3:00 p.m., marking the government’s sixth repatriation flight from the Middle East due to ongoing clashes and rising tensions in the region.
Officials from the DMW, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Office of the President (OP), the Department of Health (DOH), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) were present to welcome the returning Filipinos.
These agencies are expected to extend assistance to those who have just arrived.
