PETRONAS DENIES DIESEL SUPPLY DEAL WITH DAVAO DEL NORTE

Malaysian state-owned oil company Petronas has denied reports linking it to a supposed plan to supply millions of liters of diesel to the provincial government of Davao del Norte.

In a statement issued Sunday, the company clarified:

“PETRONAS wishes to clarify that it is not aware of, nor involved in, any such arrangement, and has not entered into any related agreement or commitment.”

Petronas emphasized that its current priority remains ensuring a steady fuel supply within Malaysia.

The clarification came after Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib claimed last week that negotiations were underway between the province and Petronas for the purchase of diesel.
