MAYWEATHER-PACQUIAO REMATCH TO BE AN EXHIBITION, VENUE UNDECIDED

Floyd Mayweather has clarified that his highly anticipated rematch with Filipino boxing icon and former senator Manny Pacquiao will be staged as an exhibition bout, with the official venue yet to be finalized.

The two legends—Mayweather, 49, and Pacquiao, 47—previously announced plans to face each other in September, initially pointing to the Sphere in Las Vegas as a possible location.

The event is expected to stream globally on Netflix, though the platform has not yet released an official statement.

“As of right now, we don’t know exactly where the fight is going to be at,” Mayweather told Vegas Sports Today.

“The Sphere is one of the places that they talked about. So, we don’t know if it’s 100% going to be there. And this is not actually a fight, it’s an exhibition… It’s an exhibition, so we’re both winners. I mean, we just want to go out there and entertain the people and put on a good show.”

Mayweather, who retired undefeated with a 50-0 record after defeating Conor McGregor in 2017, previously won against Pacquiao via unanimous decision in their blockbuster 2015 bout.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, remains one of boxing’s most celebrated figures, having held world titles across multiple weight divisions.
