Consumers are bracing for a significant increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices as April begins, with price adjustments scheduled to take effect in two stages.
Former LPGMA Party-list Representative Arnel Ty, founder of the LPG Marketers Association, confirmed that the price hikes will be implemented in two rounds.
“After the adjustment po namin nitong nakaraang linggo, ito pong darating na April 1, magkakaroon po kami ng price adjustment. Dalawang beses po ito. Pinaghati na lang po namin.”
Ty explained that the first increase on April 1 will amount to ₱5 per kilo or ₱55 for an 11-kilogram tank. This will be followed by another ₱5 per kilo or ₱55 increase on April 7.
The adjustments mean consumers will face a total increase of ₱110 per LPG cylinder within just one week, pushing the suggested retail price from around ₱1,350–₱1,400 to approximately ₱1,500.
