GOV’T OFFICES TO SUSPEND WORK FROM NOON ON HOLY WEDNESDAY

Government employees will have no office work on Holy Wednesday, April 1, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., following an announcement by Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.

The clarification was issued in response to questions on whether government offices would remain open during the day.

Castro explained that employees will work from home in the morning before the suspension takes effect.

“Ang announcement, April 1 for all government employees, 8 o’clock to 12 noon, work from home. 12 hanggang alas-5 ng hapon walang pasok,” Castro said.

This means government workers across all agencies will not be required to report physically to their offices. The adjustment is intended to give employees more time to prepare for Holy Week, particularly those traveling to their home provinces.

Many government workers are expected to spend the observance in the provinces, joining millions of Filipinos who traditionally use the long break for reflection, family gatherings, and religious activities.
