PANGILINAN LAUNCHES AGRI-AGRA TASK FORCE TO ADDRESS MIDDLE EAST CRISIS IMPACT

Senator Kiko Pangilinan announced Tuesday, March 31, the creation of a task force under the AGRI-AGRA Team to closely monitor and respond to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

The team will be composed of representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform, Congress, and local government units.

Pangilinan, who chairs the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Food and Agrarian Reform, said the initiative aims to mitigate the possible effects of the Middle East conflict on the country’s food security, agricultural sector, and overall economy.

“Pagtutulungan nating i-monitor, bumuo ng isang ad hoc committee, crisis committee, and AGRI-AGRA team para bantayan itong magiging tulong, suporta, ayuda, assistance, sa ating food security concerns,” he stated.

The senator explained that the task force will focus on monitoring supply chains, ensuring adequate food supply, and coordinating assistance programs to help protect farmers and consumers from the potential economic impact of the crisis.
