Starting Wednesday, April 1, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has rolled out reduced passenger service charges (PSC) and airline fees across all airports under its management.
According to CAAP, airlines will see up to 50% cuts in fees, while passengers will benefit from lower PSC rates.
For international flights, the PSC has been reduced to ₱700 from ₱900. For domestic flights using international airports, charges now range between ₱150 and ₱200, down from ₱300.
Breakdown of new PSC rates:
- Principal Class 1 airports: ₱150–₱200 (from ₱300)
- Principal Class 2 airports: ₱100 (from ₱200)
- Community airports: ₱50 (from ₱100)
Airlines will also receive discounts of up to ₱5,000 on aeronautical fees, including landing and takeoff charges.
CAAP said the initiative aims to ease the burden of rising fuel costs and make air travel more affordable for passengers.
