The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has advised motorists of a temporary lane closure along Batasan/Commonwealth Avenue from 11 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, until 4 a.m. Thursday, April 2.
According to the agency, four lanes from the middle of the eastbound side—stretching from Amity Street to Ilang Ilang Street—will be closed to give way to ongoing works for the MRT-7 project. The activity involves the unloading and lifting of elevator and escalator equipment.
Despite the temporary closure, two lanes along the service road will remain open to accommodate passing vehicles.
The DOTr appealed for public understanding, citing the need to carry out infrastructure developments aimed at improving the country’s public transportation system.
“We seek the public’s cooperation and understanding for the temporary inconvenience as the government continues its efforts to provide a better and more reliable commuting experience for Filipino commuters through an enhanced public transport system,” the agency said in a statement.
