ALEX EALA RETURNS TO TRAINING AHEAD OF CLAY-COURT SEASON

Filipina tennis standout Alex Eala has returned to Mallorca, Spain to continue her training at the Rafa Nadal Academy as she prepares for the clay-court stretch of the season.

Eala is set to resume competition at the Upper Austria Ladies Linz Open from April 6 to 12, where she will face a strong field of international contenders. Among those expected to compete are defending champion Ekaterina Alexandrova, as well as Clara Tauson, Emma Raducanu, Emma Navarro, and Jelena Ostapenko.

The 20-year-old is coming off a challenging campaign at the Miami Open, where she bowed out in the Round of 16 after a straight-sets loss to Karolina Muchova, 6-0, 6-2. The result saw Eala drop from a career-high world No. 29 to No. 45 in the latest WTA rankings.

Following her stint in Linz, Eala is scheduled to compete in the Stuttgart Open from April 13 to 19, before heading to the Madrid Open from April 21 to May 3.

With a packed schedule ahead, Eala aims to regain momentum and deliver strong performances as she transitions into the clay-court season.
