The Philippine National Police has procured ₱506 million worth of mobility assets and protective equipment as part of its ongoing modernization program, aimed at enhancing law enforcement and public safety across the country.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the newly acquired vehicles and equipment will be immediately deployed to police units nationwide to strengthen peace and order operations, particularly during the dry season.
The purchases include 800 sets of Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) equipment, 3,711 all-purpose waistcoat vests, 600 sets of non-lethal gear, and 403 autogated night vision monocular devices, funded under the PNP’s 2025 Capability Enhancement Program (CEP) with a budget of ₱244.7 million.
Congress also approved additional funding for the acquisition of 117 personnel carrier 4×4 units and 71 light motorcycles.
“These will enhance the mobility, protection, and operational readiness of our personnel on the ground,” Nartatez said, noting that units in areas with high tourist activity will be prioritized.
The PNP’s modernization initiative is ongoing, with around 700 more motorcycles and body-worn cameras expected within the next six months.
Upgrades also include nationwide improvements to PNP hotlines to ensure faster and more efficient public service.
