Senate Deputy Majority Leader Risa Hontiveros has denounced the spread of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated fake news targeting her and her office, urging the public to remain vigilant against misinformation.
In a post on her social media account, Hontiveros appealed:
She lamented that even during Holy Week, false content continues to circulate.
Huwag natin hayaan manaig ang kasinungalingan nila,” she added.
Hontiveros has previously taken legal action against alleged purveyors of misinformation, including filing cyberlibel complaints against certain social media personalities. One case involved a video accusing her of bribing a Senate witness connected to Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder and televangelist Apollo Quiboloy.
The complaint was later dismissed by the Department of Justice earlier this year.
