GSIS TO RELEASE ₱19B UNDER BALIK GINHAWA PROGRAM

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will roll out more than ₱19 billion in refunds under its Balik Ginhawa (Loan Moratorium Through Refund) program, benefiting 1.37 million members and pensioners with active loan accounts.

The program covers loan payments made between December 2025 and February 2026. Refund amounts will vary depending on how many monthly amortizations borrowers paid during this period, ranging from ₱12,000 to ₱117,000 for three months, based on loan size.

Unlike a traditional moratorium, GSIS will continue loan deductions but return up to three months of amortizations in a single lump sum.

GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso emphasized the program’s immediate impact:

“This is a more responsive approach than a traditional moratorium. Instead of suspending payments, we are returning up to three months of amortizations in one lump sum, giving our members immediate support when they need it most.”

Eligibility is limited to members and pensioners who made loan payments during the covered months. Those without payments in the period will not qualify for refunds.
