President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has brushed off circulating claims on social media alleging that he is battling stage 4 cancer, assuring the public that he remains in good physical condition.
In a video released on April 8, the President responded lightheartedly when Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro asked about his health.
“Huwag n’yo po masyadong sineseryoso. Alam n’yo naman ‘yung social media, palabiro ‘yan eh. Wala po tayong problema,” Marcos said, downplaying the speculation.
He explained that he has resumed his normal routine following his earlier diagnosis of diverticulitis.
“I am back to my regular exercise. I’ve been back to my regular routine… magti-three months na ito na patuloy lang ang aking ginagawa… making sure that I am always ready to do the work,” he added.
Meanwhile, Acting Communications Secretary Dave Gomez confirmed that the government is preparing legal action against individuals responsible for spreading false information about the President’s health.
Malacañang emphasized that Marcos continues to carry out his duties and remains focused on maintaining his fitness to meet the demands of his office.
