IMEE MARCOS DENIES TERM-SHARING CLAIMS IN UNITEAM ALLIANCE

Senator Imee Marcos has strongly refuted allegations of a supposed “term-sharing” agreement between the UniTeam partnership of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte, dismissing claims made by witness Ramil Madriaga during the House impeachment proceedings.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, Marcos responded sharply to Madriaga’s testimony, which alleged that President Marcos had agreed to step down for Duterte.

“Hoy, Madriaga, sinungaling ka! Unang-una, no such thing as yung mga term-term… Talaga naman kasinungalingan yan,” she said.

The President’s sister categorically denied any arrangement to split presidential terms, questioning the credibility of Madriaga’s statements.

She recalled the early discussions that shaped the UniTeam alliance, noting that Duterte was initially considered the stronger presidential contender before the 2022 elections.

Marcos also criticized attempts to discredit the Vice President by relying on questionable witnesses.

“Hindi nila kayang sirain si Inday… Kaya gagamit sila ng taong wasak na ang pagkatao para subukang wasakin din ang Bise Presidente,” she remarked.

Calling for transparency, Marcos urged her brother to publicly clarify the matter to put an end to the controversy.

“Pangulong Marcos, alam mo ang katotohanan… Kung hindi mo ito ipinag-uutos, walang dahilan para hindi mo itama ang kasinungalingan na ito,” she said.
