MATSURI IN MANILA 2026 CELEBRATES 70TH DIPLOMATIC FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN JAPAN AND THE PHILIPPINES IN THE FESTIVAL!

Manila, Philippines — A jam-packed cultural crossover festival that brings vibrant
celebration of culture, music, and friendship is set to take place as MATSURI IN
MANILA 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan
and the Philippines.

A Summer Outdoor Festival that will bring together artists, anime fans, cosplay
enthusiasts, and cultural communities that deepen the relationship between the two
nations. Being inspired by the traditional Japanese festivals, MATSURI in MANILA
2026 will feature food and entertainment ranging from music performances, cosplay
showcases, cultural exhibits, and more!
Headlining the event is renowned Japanese singer MAKI OTSUKI, best known for
performing iconic songs from the globally beloved anime series One Piece. Joining
her is Japanese idol group Fairy Tales, R!N, bringing energetic performances that
highlight Japan’s pop culture influence worldwide.
Representing the Philippines are some of the country’s most exciting performers top
billed by Rock band Mayonnaise, pop group Sunkissed Lola, and Japinoy Rock band
SkyGarden. The event will also feature appearances from prominent cosplay
personalities including Myrtle Sarrosa, a leading figure in the Philippine anime and
cosplay community.

The festival aims to highlight the strong cultural ties between Japan and the
Philippines, particularly the growing popularity of Japanese anime, music, and pop
culture among Filipino audiences and also grounds for the Japanese community in
the Philippines to strengthen the relationship and culture around them.
“Matsuri in Manila 2026 is more than just an entertainment event. It is a
celebration of friendship, cultural exchange, and the shared appreciation
between our two nations,” said the event organizers. “We hope this festival will
bring communities together and strengthen the bond between Japan and the

Happening at Quirino Grandstand, City of Manila on April 25, 2026, Thousands of
attendees are expected to join the celebration, making Matsuri in Manila 2026 one
of the most anticipated cultural events of the year for fans of Japanese culture,
anime, and live music.
