President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working days in 13 municipalities and cities across the country to allow residents to celebrate their respective local festivals and anniversaries.
Through separate proclamations signed in April, the President approved the following holidays:
- July 23 — Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental (66th Charter Day and 47th Kalinga Festival) under Proclamation No. 1224.
- May 5 — Santiago City, Isabela (Cityhood Anniversary) under Proclamation No. 1225.
- May 8 — President Roxas, Cotabato; Caramoan, Camarines Sur; Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur (Founding Anniversaries) under Proclamation Nos. 1226, 1227, 1228.
- May 9 — San Jose, Negros Oriental (Charter Day) under Proclamation No. 1229.
- May 11 — Llanera, Nueva Ecija (71st Founding Anniversary) under Proclamation No. 1230; Aparri, Cagayan (346th Founding Anniversary) under Proclamation No. 1231.
- May 15 — Sariaya, Quezon (Agawan Festival); Gigmoto, Catanduanes (Founding Anniversary); Tayabas, Quezon (Mayohan sa Tayabas Festival) under Proclamation Nos. 1232, 1233, 1236.
- May 21 — Malabon City (427th Founding Anniversary) under Proclamation No. 1234.
- May 26 — Baliwag, Bulacan (Founding Anniversary) under Proclamation No. 1235.
The proclamations underscore the administration’s recognition of local traditions and milestones, giving communities the opportunity to celebrate their heritage and strengthen civic pride.
