TV5 DOMINATES 2026 AWARDS WITH MAJOR WINS IN ENTERTAINMENT AND NEWS

​Kapatid personalities and programs continue to dominate the local awards circuit, securing multiple wins at the 7th Village People Choice Awards 2026, the Gandingan Awards, and the 10th Nation Builders Awards.

The network’s entertainment and news divisions were both recognized for their excellence in storytelling and public service.

​In the entertainment category, the teen romantic-comedy series “Ang Mutya ng Section E” was hailed as the TV Series of the Year. The show’s lead stars, Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga, emerged as the big winners of the night, jointly winning Love Team of the Year. Individually, Muhlach and Olviga were named TV Actor and TV Actress of the Year, respectively.

Ashtine also secured the Face of the Year (1st Place) and Movie Supporting Actress of the Year for her role in the 2025 MMFF entry “Manila’s Finest.”

  • Ruth Cabal: Named Best FM Radio Program Host for “Good Morning Bayan.”
  • Lourd de Veyra: His program “Sana Lourd” was recognized as the Most Development-Oriented Radio Drama.
  • Mon Gualvez: Honored as the Most-Trusted News Anchor of the Year at the 10th Nation Builders and Most Sustainable and Liveable Gala Awards.
  • Ted Failon & DJ ChaCha: Their show on TrueFM was awarded Most Development-Oriented FM Program.
