“IT’S SHOWTIME” DENIES SUNDAY EXTENSION WITH VIRAL “REST DAY” POST

The long-running noontime variety show It’s Showtime has addressed swirling rumors regarding a potential seven-day-a-week broadcast schedule through a humorous update on its official social media channels.

The clarification follows ABS-CBN’s major programming shift for its Sunday lineup. After 31 years as the cornerstone of Sunday noontime television, the musical variety show ASAP is set to vacate its traditional slot.

Rebranding as ASAP XP, the program will transition to a pre-primetime schedule within the “Yes Weekend” block, airing at 5:30 PM starting May 17.

Responding to fan speculation that It’s Showtime might expand to fill the newly opened Sunday noon vacancy, the show updated its cover photo with a playful disclaimer:

“It’s Showtime

Mondays to Saturdays | 12NN

Sundays | Pahinga po kami,” the Kapamilya program quipped.

While the “rest day” post effectively debunked the extension rumors, ABS-CBN has yet to officially announce which program will occupy the Sunday noontime slot formerly held by ASAP.

The network has also remained silent on the revised schedules for other Sunday mainstays, including TV Patrol Regional, TV Patrol Weekend, and Rated Korina.

Currently, It’s Showtime continues its regular broadcast from Monday to Saturday at 12:00 NN. The show maintains a massive multi-platform presence, airing on the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, The Filipino Channel (TFC), and through major partners including GMA-7, GTV, A2Z, and ALLTV.
