Senator Erwin Tulfo on Tuesday clarified that neither he nor his brother, Senator Raffy Tulfo, has any intention of seeking a higher government position in the upcoming elections.
The statement was issued following the release of the most recent Pulse Asia survey for the presidency, which showed Senator Raffy Tulfo locked in a statistical tie with Vice President Sara Duterte.
The lawmaker emphasized that both siblings are perfectly content with their current legislative duties, explicitly stating that they are happy to just be “crafting laws” within the upper chamber.
In his appeal, Tulfo urged polling firms to exclude their names from future candidate rosters and instead focus on individuals who have openly manifested their intentions to run for higher office.
He specifically named Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla, Senate Deputy Majority Leader Risa Hontiveros, Senator Bam Aquino, and Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon as more appropriate subjects for such surveys.
Dahil gusto po namin tahimik po muna,” he said.
So, let’s just leave the please, please leave us alone.
