FILIPINO-AMERICAN JOURNALIST PABLO TORRE WINS PULITZER PRIZE

Filipino American journalist Pablo Torre has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Audio Reporting for his work on the podcast “Pablo Torre Finds Out.”

The prestigious accolade was granted following an in-depth investigation into allegations that the Los Angeles Clippers circumvented the NBA’s salary cap.

The report explored the use of a secondary entity to facilitate payments to star player Kawhi Leonard. The Pulitzer board commended the podcast for its “pioneering and entertaining” approach to live investigative journalism.

Torre expressed his appreciation for the recognition following the announcement.

“We are honored to have been named the winner of the 2026 Pulitzer Prize in Audio Reporting,” Torre wrote expressing his gratitude.

A graduate of Harvard University, Torre established his career as a sports writer for Sports Illustrated before transitioning to ESPN, where he served as a senior writer for ESPN The Magazine.

His extensive media background includes contributions to popular television programs such as “Around the Horn” and “Pardon the Interruption,” as well as hosting the ESPN Daily podcast.

Since its launch in 2023, Torre’s thrice-weekly show has tackled high-profile subjects, including the internal operations of the National Football League Players Association.
