VP SARA LEADS IN NEW 2028 POLL AS ROBREDO AND TULFO CLOSE IN

The lead of Vice President Sara Duterte over her potential rivals for the 2028 presidential race appears to be narrowing, according to the latest mobile survey conducted by Tangere Research Firm.

In the survey released on May 8, which polled 1,200 respondents with a margin of error of ±2.77%, Duterte maintained the top spot with 39%. However, former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo followed closely at 27%, with Senator Raffy Tulfo trailing at 25%.

The data further revealed that Tulfo has overtaken Duterte in a hypothetical head-to-head match-up, garnering 45% against the Vice President’s 44%.

Geographic data shows a divided electorate:

  • Duterte: Dominates her traditional strongholds in Visayas and Mindanao.
  • Robredo: Holds firm in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and her home province in the Bicol Region.
  • Tulfo: Emerged as the preferred candidate for residents in the National Capital Region (NCR), Central Luzon, and Northern Luzon—areas traditionally considered administration territory.

Tangere’s results mirror recent findings from Pulse Asia, OCTA Research, and WR Numero, which consistently place Duterte, Robredo, and Tulfo as the top three contenders for the nation’s highest office.
