VIBE welcomed the new school year with a high-energy episode featuring a mix of rising P-pop acts, veteran OPM performers, and chart-topping artists in its fan-powered live music countdown.
The show opened with performances by the VIBE Jocks and GEN Vs, who entertained viewers with school-themed OPM favorites, including “Blue Jeans,” “First Day High,” “High School,” and “Estudyante Blues.”

As the featured VIBE Spot artist, rising P-pop boy group Project Wan performed its pre-debut track, “UY!” The group, formed through the TV5 and MLD Entertainment survival program Be The Next 9 Dreamers, reflected on how the competition helped shape their identity.

Davey shared:
“All of us came from the same survival show Be the Next 9 Dreamers, we didn’t win but our passion, perseverance and sa suporta ng mga fans namin, we continue to following dreams at sa iba’t-ibang personalities namin at yung mabibigay namin na talent to the audiences kaya that’s how identity has formed.”
Meanwhile, Harry revealed that he wrote “UY!” from the heart, describing it as a sincere song for the group. Davey added that the track also serves as a call to reflect on what is happening in society.
The NEXT VIBE segment featured OPM veteran Mon Espia, joined by Starworx Artists Chan Martin and Seiya Marasigan for a performance of “Tuloy Pa Rin Ako.” Espia said the lasting appeal of OPM lies in its meaningful messages and memorable melodies, adding that the industry continues to improve in recording, songwriting, and live performances. Chan and Seiya also expressed appreciation for OPM’s ability to unite listeners across generations.

Legendary rap duo Death Threat returned to the stage with their hit “Gusto Kong Bumaet” while celebrating their 33rd anniversary in the music industry. The duo proudly recalled being pioneers of reality or gangster rap in the Philippines since 1993 and emphasized that authenticity remains essential in creating music within the genre.
The MAIN VIBE leaderboard also featured performances from today’s rising hitmakers. Dylan Menor performed “Gustong-Gusto Kita,” which currently holds the No. 4 spot. He shared that the song is especially meaningful because it serves as the official soundtrack of Project Loki and was written by Earl Agustin, while also thanking his supporters for their continued encouragement.
P-pop group A-ON took the stage with its debut single “Miss Mo? Mismo,” currently at No. 2. Member Gilly expressed his joy at fulfilling his dream of performing again with his fellow members and appearing on the VIBE stage.

Topping the MAIN VIBE chart was fast-rising P-pop group SYNC, which performed its latest comeback single, “BREAK.” Member Clyn explained that the song highlights the importance of taking breaks in everyday life, while Pen thanked the group’s STARBURST fans for standing by them since the beginning.
Closing the show was alternative rock band Mayonnaise, named the week’s Most Solid Legit VIBE artist. The band performed fan favorites “Tayo Na Lang Dalawa,” “Kapag Lasing Malambing,” and its iconic anthem “Jopay,” joined by VIBE Jocks Ryle, Dylan, and Joao.
Sharing advice for aspiring OPM bands, the group said:
“Siguro una muna, tanggapin nila yung pagmamahal galing sa sariling ka-banda, sa mga magulang, sa mga kaibigan. Kase kapag napasaya nila ang mga sarili nila, tsaka mga mahal sa buhay, darating lang talaga.”
VIBE also teased the reveal of its newest VIBE Jock in an upcoming episode. Fans can continue voting for the MAIN VIBE leaderboard until Thursday, July 9, at 11:59 a.m. The program airs on TV5, One PH, True TV, Kapatid Channel, and is also available through online streaming platforms.
