ISKO APPROVES ₱688.9M AID FOR MANILA RESIDENTS THIS JULY

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso has approved the release of ₱688.9 million in financial assistance this July, benefiting hundreds of thousands of residents through various city and national government support programs.

The city government announced on Tuesday, July 7, that a total of 359,295 beneficiaries will receive financial aid, including public school teachers, students, police officers, firefighters, jail personnel, senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

According to Manila City Treasurer Atty. Paul Vega, ₱611.11 million of the total amount will come from the city’s funds, while ₱77.79 million will be provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for pensions of indigent senior citizens.

The distribution of assistance will take place in two batches. The first payout, scheduled from July 8 to 11, will cover 40,250 beneficiaries and amount to ₱158.76 million. The second batch, set for July 22 to 24, will release ₱452.35 million to 293,655 recipients, along with ₱77.79 million in DSWD pensions for 25,930 indigent senior citizens.

Among those receiving assistance are 4,447 personnel from the Manila Police District, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology. Financial aid will also be distributed to 12,466 public school teachers and thousands of students from the Universidad de Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST).

The program likewise includes allowances for 63,281 persons with disabilities and 17,281 solo parents, continuing the city’s support for vulnerable sectors.

Mayor Domagoso said:

“Nilalaan po namin ay humigit-kumulang ₱688.9 million na ire-release ngayong buwan ng Hulyo.”

Speaking about the city’s senior citizens’ assistance program, he stressed that all qualified elderly residents are treated equally regardless of their financial status.

“Walang distinction—mahirap, middle class, at mayaman. Basta senior citizen at taga-Maynila.”

The mayor also urged beneficiaries to monitor the official payout schedules and reiterated the city government’s commitment to responsible management of public funds.

“Pipilitin nating laging maging mainam, sinop, at episyenteng gastahin ang taxpayers’ money na ipinagkatiwala sa atin ng mga kababayan natin.”
