A new massive housing initiative in Tarlac City is set to turn more than 7,000 low-income families into homeowners, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) announced.
Located in Barangay Armenia, the horizontal housing development will leverage the Pag-IBIG Fund’s subsidized interest rate program to ensure monthly amortizations remain within reach for eligible beneficiaries, according to Human Settlements Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling.
Aliling recently evaluated a prototype unit at the site alongside Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta.
The model residence features a two-story layout with 32 square meters of floor space. Inner units are situated on 30-square-meter lots, while corner units offer slightly larger plots at 41 square meters.
Each home is configured with two bedrooms, a single bathroom, a functional living zone, and dedicated parking suitable for a motorcycle or an electric bicycle.
To encourage a secure and family-centric environment, Aliling noted that the development will integrate communal facilities, including outdoor recreational spaces, a children’s play area, and a sheltered multipurpose court for neighborhood gatherings.
