TV5 and ABS-CBN Corporation are set to further solidify their broadcast partnership, promising more collaborative projects on free-to-air television and digital streaming platforms.
TV5 President Guido R. Zaballero confirmed the development during an interview with the entertainment news website Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph).
According to Zaballero, viewers can look forward to seeing more TV5 programs on ABS-CBN platforms, as well as ABS-CBN shows airing on TV5.
Among the upcoming lineup changes is the afternoon broadcast of a TV5 program on ABS-CBN’s channel.
“Actually, malapit na rin that we’re going to have some shows on ABS-CBN also sa hapon. July 27, My Bespren Emman, book two na siya,” Zaballero shared.
He further detailed the timeslot:
“So, sa hapon at 2:30 after Eat Bulaga! and after It’s Showtime, lalabas ang Emman sa ABS-CBN as well.”
Zaballero also welcomed the possibility of talents from TV5’s agency, Star Worx, appearing in Kapamilya Network programs.
He noted that while the decision ultimately rests with ABS-CBN’s management, he has already initiated talks with ABS-CBN Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Broadcast Cory Vidanes.
“Sana. Sana. Nag-usap na kami ni Tita Cory [Vidanes] and sana, we can work something out,” Zaballero said.
Meanwhile, Zaballero remained tight-lipped regarding rumors that MediaQuest Holdings Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan and San Miguel Corporation President and CEO Ramon Ang are acting as “white knights” looking to invest in ABS-CBN.
He explained that Ang’s recent appearance alongside Pangilinan on TV5’s music countdown show “Vibe+” was purely social.
“Kasi, siyempre birthday celebration ni MVP,” Zaballero clarified.
