The southwest monsoon, or Habagat, persists in impacting parts of Northern Luzon, bringing variable weather conditions to Batanes, Ilocos Norte, and the Babuyan Islands, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.
According to the state weather bureau’s Wednesday afternoon update, communities in these areas should anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy skies, alongside isolated rain showers and lightning storms over the coming 24 hours.
Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the Philippines are slated to experience comparable weather patterns, with localized thunderstorms projected to form as the day progresses.
PAGASA further stated that light to moderate winds are set to blow across the archipelago, yielding generally moderate coastal water conditions.
In a separate update, the weather agency indicated that no low-pressure areas (LPAs) were detected inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. Forecasters emphasized that no active weather disturbances within the monitoring zone currently exhibit potential for tropical cyclone formation or present any imminent danger to the country.
While national weather conditions remain relatively calm, PAGASA urged citizens to keep track of official updates, cautioning that atmospheric patterns can shift rapidly.
“All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA,” the agency said.
Additionally, the bureau noted that dawn will break over Metro Manila on Thursday, July 16, with the sunrise scheduled for 5:35 a.m.
