NEW HEALTH CHIEF PUJALTE ORDERS DOH LEADERSHIP RESHUFFLE

Following the inauguration of newly appointed Health Secretary Brix Pujalte, the Department of Health (DOH) has enacted a wave of temporary leadership adjustments throughout the agency.

These transitional assignments were officially authorized under Department Personnel Order No. 2026-4726, issued shortly after Pujalte took his oath of office before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The health department noted that the administrative reorganization impacts personnel in the Central Office, regional Centers for Health Development, and various operational units.

This restructuring takes place as the DOH begins evaluating its institutional goals under its new administration.

“The health challenges we face require an agency that listens, acts decisively, and works as one organization. Following the directive of President Bongbong Marcos, our focus is to deliver services fast, work closely with our partners, and translate policies into concrete action that improves the lives of Filipinos,” Pujalte said in a statement on Wednesday, July 15.

The DOH assured the public that all offices, state-run hospitals, specialty centers, and attached agencies will maintain standard operations while this evaluation process is underway.

Additionally, Pujalte directed all officers and staff to ensure a seamless handoff, highlighting the necessity of professional conduct and uninterrupted public service during this period of change.

Pujalte succeeds former Health Secretary Ted Herbosa, who resigned from the position to focus on recuperating from a knee replacement procedure.
