The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that generally fair weather will prevail over a large portion of the Philippines, though localized rainfall remains a possibility due to a weak southwest monsoon, or habagat.
According to its 5 a.m. public forecast on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated that the monsoon’s current flow will impact Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and BARMM.
Similar weather conditions will affect Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Lanao del Norte.
The remainder of the archipelago will see partly cloudy to cloudy horizons, accompanied by sporadic rain showers or thunderstorms brought about by localized weather systems.
Forecasters anticipate a change in weather intensity later in the week. PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the southwest monsoon is likely to strengthen by Wednesday.
Additionally, coastal waters and wind speeds across the entire country are projected to remain calm to moderate.
