Vice President Sara Duterte emerged as the primary choice for the 2028 presidential race in the debut pre-election poll published by the newly founded Momentum Research Firm.
During the media briefing for its “National Momentum Survey” on Thursday, July 23, the opinion research group named Duterte, former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo, alongside Senator Raffy Tulfo as the premier candidates expected to battle for the presidency following the conclusion of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s term.
The poll revealed Duterte securing the top spot with 44.2 percent voter preference. Robredo trailed in second place with 23.8 percent, while Tulfo recorded 12.2 percent.
Other potential contenders trailed significantly further behind, with Senator Risa Hontiveros gathering 2.4 percent, Senator Bam Aquino netting 2 percent, and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go posting 1.8 percent. Meanwhile, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan registered 1 percent, and Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla captured 0.5 percent.
