ABS-CBN UNVEILS LEADERSHIP LINEUP AHEAD OF RESCHEDULED STOCKHOLDERS MEETING

Following previous delays, media giant ABS-CBN Corporation has provided clarity on its upcoming annual stockholders meeting with a formal regulatory filing submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Friday.

The filing confirmed that Mark Lopez will continue to serve as Chairman of the Kapamilya Network, while Carlo Katigbak will remain as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The announcement also featured key board appointments, most notably the return of veteran actress and former ABS-CBN President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio to the board of directors. Additionally, STI Education Systems Holdings President and CEO Monico Jacob has been appointed as an independent director.

Santos-Concio replaces economist Emmanuel de Dios, while Jacob succeeds political analyst Randolph David—father of veteran GMA Network journalist Kara David.

Rounding out the board of directors are:

  • Rafael Lopez – ABS-CBN Global Chief Operating Officer (COO)
  • Honorario Poblador IV – Founder and Managing Partner of Navegar
  • Federico “Piki” Lopez – Chairman of First Philippine Holdings and President of Lopez Inc., who retains his seat despite reported ongoing friction with his cousin, former ABS-CBN Chairman Emeritus Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III.

The rescheduled stockholders meeting is set to take place on August 19, following the postponement of its original July 24 schedule.
