House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III affirmed that the House of Representatives remains dedicated to its legislative duties regardless of survey results, emphasizing that lawmakers continue to work quietly to address the needs of the Filipino people.
Dy shared these thoughts with reporters on Friday during the Isabela launch of the chamber’s “LegisHear” program.
”Trabaho lang kami. With or without the survey, nakita ninyo kami sa Kongreso. Nakita ninyo kaming tahimik na nagtatrabaho. Ginagawa po namin ang aming mga responsibilidad, at nakikita po namin ang aming mga priorities na dapat naming isulong sa bawat Kongreso,” Dy said.
While expressing appreciation for the public’s continued trust, the House leader noted that the chamber focuses on earning that confidence through consistent service and meaningful policy reforms.
”Salamat. Ibig sabihin, hindi naman po kami after sa ganoong mga rating, pero salamat sa pagtitiwala,” he added. “Kasi kung maaalala ninyo, noong ako ay unang na-elect, talagang ang aming pinagsusumikapan, sa suporta at tulong ng bawat miyembro, ay maibalik ang tiwala ng ating mga kababayan.”
Dy stressed that rebuilding public trust is an ongoing initiative. He noted that lawmakers prioritize legislation addressing daily public concerns rather than focusing on survey scores.
”Kaya naman patuloy kaming nagsusumikap hanggang ngayon. Alam namin na marami pa ring pagkukulang kaya ito ay isang bahagi na nakikita namin upang lalo pang mapaganda at mapalapit tayo, at malaman natin ang tunay na sentimyento ng ating mga kababayan para lalo pang maging maganda ang mga batas na ihahain natin para sa ating bansa,” Dy explained.
The newly launched “LegisHear” initiative aims to connect lawmakers directly with local communities to gather grassroots feedback for future legislation.
The project forms part of the House’s broader “Bagong Kongreso” framework, which promotes transparency, accountability, and public participation in the legislative process.
