Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos assured major business groups that Malacañang will directly address their investment and regulatory hurdles with relevant state agencies as the Marcos administration steps up efforts to streamline government operations.
Speaking at a dialogue in Malacañang on Tuesday, Abalos affirmed that the Office of the Cabinet Secretary will act as a bridge between the private sector and the government, bringing agencies together to resolve issues that slow down business activities and impede investment.
“Ang sabi ng Pangulo, we are opening Malacañang. The doors are open for everyone,” Abalos said.
Abalos highlighted President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to make the government more responsive to the private sector by delivering practical solutions to business bottlenecks. He noted that his office is ready to address regulatory hurdles, cumbersome procedures, and compliance issues related to the Ease of Doing Business Act.
Business leaders at the meeting presented proposals aimed at cutting red tape, encouraging investment, and deepening public-private cooperation. Abalos reassured them that the administration will pursue actionable, time-bound solutions that promote economic growth while safeguarding public welfare and the environment.
The meeting included representatives from key business organizations, such as the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Employers Confederation of the Philippines, and the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc., among others.
