PBBM PROVIDES CASH AID AND REBUILDING FUNDS AFTER BATAC MARKET FIRE

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. distributed financial assistance to vendors affected by the Batac Public Market fire in Ilocos Norte and allocated funding for the reconstruction of the gutted facility.

Each of the 128 affected stall owners received ₱20,000 in cash aid. Additionally, the President turned over a ₱150-million Special Allotment Release Order sourced from the Local Government Support Fund to finance the market’s rebuild.

The blaze broke out on July 5 and was extinguished the following day, destroying numerous stalls and inflicting severe financial losses on local stallholders.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the government is committed to restoring the market to stimulate local commerce and help vendors recover.
