VP SARA URGES YOUTH TO REMAIN VIGILANT AND DEFEND TRUTH

Vice President Sara Duterte has called on the Filipino youth to stay vigilant, critical, and proactive in defending the truth amid ongoing social and political instability.

In her statement for International Youth Day on Wednesday, August 12, Duterte highlighted how the current generation routinely witnesses global turmoil, economic instability, and political upheaval through digital media.

Referencing this year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” the Vice President emphasized that despite varying backgrounds, young people share common goals, such as securing quality education, stable employment, and a dignified quality of life.

She also praised young citizens for developing innovative solutions to major global challenges like climate change, rather than accepting existing conditions.

Underscoring that a discerning youth is essential to a healthy democracy, Duterte encouraged the younger generation to speak out and hold firm in their convictions.

“Our job is to ensure you have the security and opportunities to build the nation you deserve. Your role is not just to inherit the future, but to defend the truth of the present,” the Vice President concluded.
