Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano has put forward minority bloc members for various committee roles, emphasizing his group’s commitment to collaborating with the majority to expedite legislative action.
Addressing the chamber, Cayetano noted that he had previously spoken with Senate leadership regarding legislative priorities.
”All of us do want to work together to speed up the work,” Cayetano said.
”Given not only the climate, but the number of problems affecting the country, people are looking at the Senate and the minority, of course, joins the majority,” he added.
Senate President Win Gatchalian expressed appreciation for Cayetano’s coordination to guarantee minority representation across panels.
”And like you said, we had a conversation earlier on the various issues that will make the workload more efficient,” Gatchalian noted.
During the proceedings, Senators Rodante Marcoleta, Robin Padilla, and Camille Villar were selected to lead specific committees.
