PARAÑAQUE FIRE DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES NEW CHILD-MINDING CENTER FOR STAFF AND VISITORS

The Parañaque City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has introduced a child-minding center to provide a safe, nurturing space for young children while their parents are working or conducting official business at the fire station.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez highlighted that the facility primarily caters to the offspring of BFP personnel, allowing firefighters and station staff to focus on their duties with peace of mind. Additionally, the space is open to children of visitors using BFP services.

Rather than acting solely as a short-term daycare, the center is designed as an educational hub featuring age-appropriate activities led by designated daycare teachers, according to Olivarez.

The mayor voiced full support for the endeavor, emphasizing its role in advancing employee welfare while fostering a more approachable, family-oriented environment for city services.

Officially launched on August 17, the facility was inaugurated in a ceremony led by the mayor’s wife, Janet Olivarez, alongside BFP officers headed by Fire Supt. Liher Barrios.

The project aims to improve work-life balance for BFP responders while offering children a secure, enriching environment while their parents are on duty or visiting the station.
