COURT DISMISSES COMPLAINTS FILED BY ATHENA IMPERIAL AGAINST NICO WAJE

A court has thrown out the acts of lasciviousness and Safe Spaces Act complaints lodged by media personality Athena Imperial against her former coworker, Nico Waje.

The decision was made public after Waje’s spouse, Leinel Waje, provided a copy of the resolution to GMA News Online.

The official ruling advised the total dismissal of the claims made under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code and Section 16(c), Article IV of Republic Act No. 11313.

“We are pleased that, after due proceedings, Mr. Waje has been fully vindicated of these charges,” said lawyer Leo Lalusis, Waje’s lead counsel.

“We are likewise grateful for the prompt and judicious resolution of the honorable public prosecutor. We remain hopeful that any other pending matters will be resolved accordingly,” he added.

Imperial has not yet released a public response regarding the court’s finding. Back in May 2026, the reporter acknowledged that pursuing legal action against her fellow journalist was a difficult choice.

With the issuance of the resolution, the allegations brought forward by Imperial have been formally set aside by prosecutors.
