GMA Network is expanding its weekend lineup with the launch of “KALURKS!,” an upcoming talk show set to premiere on its sister station, GTV. The program brings together DJ Jhai Ho, Ashley Rivera, and Baus Rufo, who will collectively headline the broadcast as the “Kaurker Trio.”
Designed as a comprehensive weekly roundup, the program aims to unpack the latest viral stories, trending topics, and major headliners spanning entertainment, pop culture, social media, sports, politics, and current events.
Ashley noted that the show offers a fresh platform for Sunday discussions on major developments across various sectors.
”Ang KALURKS! ang magiging bagong Sunday chikahan, chismisan. Pag-uusapan natin lahat ng mga nag-trend sa social media, sa politics, sa lahat ng puwede nating, sa showbiz happenings, of course,” Ashley said in an interview with GMA News.
Baus shared his combination of excitement and anticipation regarding the program’s real-time broadcast format.
”Hihimayin po natin ang mga naging kuwento of the past week. So kami ay magbibigay ng iba’t ibang anggulo, dimension, nuance. Abangan n’yo po ‘yan. And, ang pinaka nakakauga sa lahat, live s’ya, so kailangan alam ko ang sasabihin ko,” Baus said.
The project marks the first collaborative talk show for the three hosts. DJ Jhai Ho highlighted that their distinct backgrounds will provide varied angles on every topic, including exclusive blind items extending beyond standard celebrity gossip.
”Nakakatuwa kasi syempre different perspective ng bawat isa sa amin at different personalities din. So, I’m super-duper excited dahil for sure tayong lahat na mga marites, sa mga lurkers out there,” DJ Jhai Ho said.
”I’m sure excited sila sa mga pa-blind items namin. Hindi lang ‘to mga artista ha, lahat ng mga sikat na personalidad sa mundo ng social media, even politics, kayang-kaya na ni Baus ‘yan,” he added.
Baus added that the trio will analyze stories that sparked significant public conversation throughout the week.
”Ang mga bagay na talagang napaisip tayo, natawa tayo, medyo nagalit tayo, ‘yan po ang aming uusisain tuwing Linggo,” Baus noted.
Ashley also offered a lighthearted warning to public figures who might find themselves featured on the show.
”Walang safe rito sa KALURKS!, lahat kayo pwedeng maging suspect,” Ashley added.
“KALURKS!” is scheduled to make its television debut on September 13, airing every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. on GTV.
