NOLI DE CASTRO TO RETURN TO TV PATROL AFTER MEDICAL LEAVE

Veteran news anchor and former Vice President Noli “Kabayan” de Castro is preparing to resume his anchoring duties on ABS-CBN’s flagship program “TV Patrol” following his full recovery.

Speaking at the ABS-CBN Annual Stockholders’ Meeting, news department head Francis Toral confirmed that de Castro is currently taking time off for health reasons following an operation, but remains eager to get back behind the anchor desk.

“Kabayan Noli de Castro remains on medical leave following his surgery last year, but he looks forward to returning once he’s fully recovered,” Toral shared.

Toral added that a team of seasoned journalists will continue steering the network’s daily broadcasts and major news events while de Castro recovers.

“In the meantime, Alvin Elchico, Karen Davila, and Bernadette Sembrano are co-anchoring ‘TV Patrol’ daily, with our other senior journalists being tapped for news and special coverage,” Toral stated.

De Castro temporarily stepped away from his broadcasting responsibilities in November after his surgery.

Demonstrating his steady progress, his daughter Kat de Castro shared a family photo on Father’s Day featuring the veteran broadcaster along with well wishes for his ongoing health.

She subsequently corroborated the news of his TV return on social media.

“Yes. Dad will be back soon and he’s getting really really well,” she posted online.
