Free-to-air network ALLTV released a public advisory on September 1 announcing the permanent shutdown of its analog broadcast on Channel 2 across Mega Manila, scheduled for Friday, October 30.
The frequency was previously utilized by ABS-CBN Corporation before the House of Representatives denied the media giant a fresh 25-year legislative franchise during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Currently, ALLTV broadcasts content from ABS-CBN under a partnership agreement.
Beginning Saturday, October 31, ALLTV will transition exclusively to digital television transmission in Mega Manila. The move aligns with other free-to-air networks operating in the region, including PTV-4, TV5, GMA-7, RPN-9 (RPTV), ZOE-11 (A2Z), IBC-13, SBN-21 (SolarFlix), Net25, GTV, One Sports, and INCTV.
The upcoming analog switch-off affects viewers in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal.
ALLTV advised households in these areas to adapt to digital broadcasting by acquiring set-top boxes such as GMA Affordabox, Sulit TV, or ABS-CBN TVplus, or by subscribing to cable providers.
This broadcast shift follows confirmation from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) regarding the government’s target to terminate all analog TV transmissions in Mega Manila before the end of the year.
