Asian anime streaming giant Bilibili has officially relaunched its updated international app on Android, removing real-name identity verification requirements for overseas users and content creators.
The major platform update, announced via Bilibili’s Creator Hub, aims to make its vast catalog of licensed anime and user-generated content significantly more accessible to an international audience.
Under the new update, international users no longer need to submit government-issued IDs or passports to register or post content. The updated application is currently available globally on Android via Google Play, with iOS support and a dedicated English desktop portal scheduled to roll out soon.
The platform has also integrated new features, including AI dubbing for multi-language streams and an AI-powered content moderation system managed out of Singapore. Additionally, Bilibili retains its signature live “danmaku” (bullet comment) feature across all video streams to maintain interactive community engagement.
To support its expanding global footprint, Bilibili is actively recruiting across major international hubs, including Los Angeles, London, Mexico City, São Paulo, Istanbul, and Tokyo.
Founded in 2009, Bilibili stands as China’s largest anime streaming platform. It currently holds distribution rights to over 2,000 licensed titles in Southeast Asia and continues to co-produce high-profile anime projects such as To Be Hero X alongside Japanese partners like Aniplex.
