FORMER BP CHIEF TONY HAYWARD JOINS PRIME INFRA BOARD

Prime Infrastructure Capital Inc., the infrastructure platform led by billionaire Enrique Razon, has named international energy veteran and former BP p.l.c. chief executive Tony Hayward to its board of directors.

The strategic move coincides with Prime Infra’s broader efforts to scale up operations domestically and penetrate targeted international markets.

Hayward officially assumed his seat on the board on August 10 while maintaining his post as chairman of SierraCol Energy, Colombia’s premier independent oil and gas exploration and production entity.

Prime Infra secured ownership of SierraCol in March 2026, marking a significant overseas acquisition to bolster its upstream energy footprint.

“We welcome Tony to the board. His decades of experience across the global energy industry, particularly in upstream and international markets, will bring valuable perspective as we expand our portfolio, integrate new platforms such as SierraCol, and pursue opportunities that can create long-term value for Prime Infra,” said Prime Infra Chairman Razon.

A prominent figure in global energy, Hayward has served as SierraCol Energy’s chairman since establishing the firm in 2020.

His career includes a tenure as group CEO of BP p.l.c. from 2007 to 2010, capping off a career that began with the British oil giant in 1982 as a rig geologist before advancing into executive leadership across exploration and production divisions.

Additionally, Hayward chaired Swiss natural resources giant Glencore from 2013 to 2021 and currently heads several private corporate boards.

Academic credentials for Hayward include a PhD from the University of Edinburgh and a bachelor’s degree in geology from Aston University in Birmingham.

He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, a visiting professor at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Geosciences, and holds honorary doctorates from the University of Edinburgh, Aston University, the University of Birmingham, and Robert Gordon University.

“I am delighted to join the Prime Infra board as the company continues to expand its international presence,” Hayward said.

He noted that:

“Prime Infra has built a strong track record in developing and operating critical infrastructure, and I look forward to contributing my experience as the company pursues further growth across the energy sector and beyond.”

Headquartered in the Philippines, Prime Infra develops, invests in, and manages core infrastructure assets aimed at addressing urgent sustainability, energy security, and energy transition demands in emerging markets.
