Two GMA Network weekend programs, Wish Ko Lang! and TBATS On The Go!, are set to take temporary “season breaks” as the Kapuso network introduces new shows in their respective time slots.
GMA Senior Vice President for Public Affairs Nessa Valdellon clarified that Wish Ko Lang!, hosted by Vicky Morales, has not been canceled and will only be taking a season break.
The public service program aired its final episode before the hiatus on Saturday, September 5, with Morales expressing gratitude to viewers who have supported the show during its 24-year run.
Wish Ko Lang! previously took a season break in 2020 to make room for Ilaban Natin ’Yan!, another GMA public service program. It returned later that year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taking over its Saturday timeslot will be Barangay Love Stories, a television adaptation of GMA Network’s radio program. The series is scheduled to premiere on September 12 at 4 p.m.
TBATS ON THE GO! ALSO TAKES A BREAK
Meanwhile, late-night comedy program TBATS On The Go! will also temporarily leave the air, marking its second season break. The show had initially been planned for a move to a Saturday evening timeslot.
Hosted by comedians Boobay and Super Tekla, the program previously went on hiatus in late 2025 before returning in early 2026.
Filling its Sunday 10 p.m. slot will be the comeback of ABS-CBN Studios’ Gandang Gabi Vice, hosted by comedian and box-office star Vice Ganda. The show will return on September 13, with uncut episodes also available through ABS-CBN’s streaming platform iWant.
The two programs have a history of competing against each other. TBATS On The Go!, originally titled The Boobay and Tekla Show, and Gandang Gabi Vice were rival late-night programs in 2019 before Vice Ganda’s show ended its run in March 2020.
