Filipino moviegoers can enjoy theatrical screenings for only ₱100 on Saturday, September 12, as the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) hosts the inaugural Philippine National Cinema Day.
The nationwide event aims to make both local and international films more accessible while celebrating the communal magic of the big screen.
“For one day only, participating cinemas across the country will offer ₱100 tickets for regular 2D screenings,” the CEAP stated in a press release.
Beyond providing affordable entertainment, the initiative seeks to reignite public appreciation for the traditional moviegoing experience, emphasizing the immersive sound systems, expansive displays, and shared atmosphere unique to movie theaters.
“This is more than a promotional event. It is a nationwide celebration of cinema and an invitation for Filipinos of all ages to experience the excitement, emotion, and community of watching movies on the big screen,” said CEAP President Irene Jose.
Advance ticket purchases opened on September 10 across participating box offices, official mobile apps, cinema websites, and authorized ticketing channels.
The campaign is backed by major industry organizations, including the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), and the Metro Manila Film Festival via the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
