The Philippines may continue to remain free of tropical cyclones over the next two to three days, with PAGASA seeing only a low possibility of a cyclone developing during the period.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said generally partly cloudy weather could prevail across the country as the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” weakens.
“Walang masyadong kaulapan partikular na sa bahagi ng western section ng Luzon at Visayas. Mahina ang habagat ngayon at inaasahan natin na magpapatuloy ang paghina bukas hanggang Martes,” he said.
Badrina explained that a tropical depression located near Vietnam is drawing the southwest monsoon away from the Philippines and is not directly influencing the country’s weather.
Meanwhile, the easterlies and localized thunderstorms are currently the main weather systems affecting the Philippines.
The easterlies, which are warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.
Metro Manila and other parts of the country may likewise experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms possible due to localized thunderstorms.
