Featuring Jedric Daa, Cabs Cabonillas, Earl Medina, and 6-foot-10 big man Malcolm Tyler, the Filipino squad battles New Zealand at 10:50 a.m. before crossing paths with the Spaniards at 1:45 p.m.
The men’s crew will wrap up its pool stage schedule against Egypt and Latvia on Thursday, September 18.
On the women’s side, the Philippines endured a tough opening day following a 21-4 defeat against France on Tuesday, September 15. The lineup of Louna Ozar, Marielle Vingno, Jam Meniano, and Elaine Patio struggled to counter the length and quickness of the French side.
