The Pasig City government is encouraging residents experiencing emotional difficulties to seek support as the country observes National Suicide Prevention Month this September, emphasizing that mental health services are available through local Health Centers and Super Health Centers.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 15, the city’s Mental Health Office reminded residents that emotional struggles can affect anyone and that people facing difficult moments do not have to deal with them on their own.
The office also said that experiencing exhaustion, taking a break and crying are normal parts of coping with difficult emotions, stressing that asking for help should not be viewed as a sign of weakness.
“Kung may mabigat kang pinagdadaanan at may napapansing pagbabago sa iyong ugali, emosyon, o pananaw, huwag matakot na makipag-usap at humingi ng tulong,” it said.
The office assured residents that mental health assistance is available regardless of where they spend their time in the city.
“Nasa trabaho ka man, nasa bahay, nasa paaralan, bahagi ng isang komunidad, o kahit saan ka man sa Pasig, may mental health support na maaari mong lapita,” the office said.
Residents were advised to visit the nearest Health Center or Super Health Center in their barangay to inquire about available mental health programs and assistance.
For individuals who know someone facing an immediate crisis or danger, the city government urged them to seek urgent assistance through the following crisis hotlines:
NCMH Crisis Hotline: 1553 / 0919 057 1553
In Touch Crisis Line: (02) 8893 7603 / 0917 800 1123 / 0922 893 8944
The Mental Health Office also reiterated its commitment to building a community where residents can find someone willing to listen and provide support.
“Sa Pasig, walang maiiwan. Sa Alagang Isip Sa Pasig, sama-sama nating isusulong ang isang komunidad kung saan may makikinig, may tutulong, at may masasandalan. Ligtas ang kwento mo rito,” it said.
“You matter, you are enough. The world is beautiful when you are in it,” it emphasized.
