MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday urged more than two million civil servants across the country to deliver more efficient, competent, and trustworthy governance as the nation marked the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
In his message to the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the President noted that the workforce’s duty extends beyond maintaining continuity between leadership changes, emphasizing core principles that should drive public employees daily.
He highlighted empathy, honesty, and capability as foundational to effective governance, prompting state offices to reexamine current operations and implement practical measures to enhance delivery for the public.
“I therefore call on every civil servant to uphold the trust and confidence of the Filipino people in the government,” Marcos said.
The Chief Executive challenged government personnel to reinforce a culture of public service and reflect the anniversary theme, “Puso, Dangal, at Galing,” throughout their day-to-day duties.
Marcos remarked that the bureaucracy’s 126-year heritage relies on professional standards, equity, and accountability, including adherence to a merit-based system for state employment.
He added that dedicated public duty must ultimately lead toward a more prosperous nation and a brighter future for all Filipinos.
