MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working days in the province of Tawi-Tawi and the municipality of Lumban, Laguna, enabling local communities to take part in their upcoming founding anniversary celebrations.
Under Proclamation No. 1445, signed on September 16 by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto by authority of the President, September 23 was designated a special non-working holiday across Tawi-Tawi.
The declaration precedes the province’s 53rd founding anniversary on Sunday, September 27. The holiday was shifted to September 23 following a formal request from the Office of the Governor to facilitate broader civic participation during the weekday festivities.
In a separate measure, Executive Secretary Recto signed Proclamation No. 1446 on September 17, declaring September 22 as a special non-working day in Lumban, Laguna.
The declaration aims to grant local residents full opportunity to join and observe the town’s founding anniversary activities.
